This is a series of 20 watercolor paintings, each 22" x 30" utilizing the same original image.

The image to the left is done in traditional transparent watercolor, replicating a photograph.

The objective of the class “Watercolor Beyond the Obvious” is to explore the elements of design: LINE... SHAPE... SIZE... DIRECTION... COLOR (hue/ value/ intensity)... and TEXTURE to create within the picture plane UNITY... HARMONY... DOMINANCE... CONFLICT or CONTRAST... REPETITION... VARIATION... GRADATION and BALANCE.
